My Adventure

This is my favorite cuisine, since I'm 100% Portuguese! A sample of Portuguese dishes that I made are: São Jorge Cheese & Linguiça Appetizer, Alcatra, Sweet Bread, Portuguese Roasted Chicken & Potatoes, Grilled Shrimp with Piri-Piri Sauce, and Filhós. More Portuguese recipes can be found here. I will always be adding more, so check back!

My restaurant recommendations for Spanish food are: Pintxo Pote in Los Gatos and Coqueta in San Francisco. My restaurant recommendations for Portuguese food are: Adega in San Jose and La Sallette in Sonoma. I'm still hunting these down, so check back on my Best Eats page, where I'll be adding more discoveries.

Spain and Portugal both have wonderful wine. I always order to match what I'm eating. Don't forget to try Vino Verde (a Portuguese "green" wine) and, of course, Port.

If you need ingredients to help you get cooking, buy from La Tienda.

If you'd like to experience a little Portuguese culture right here in San Jose, check out the Dia de Portual festival in June.
